SERVICES PROVIDED IN THE HEALTH UNIT
Coordination and regulation of Health Services
- Strengthen coordination and oversight of both public and private health facilities.
- Harmonize the operations of Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers.
Provide integrated responses to general public health challenges, including:
- Prevention of non-communicable diseases through community-based physical activities (sports for all).
- Prevention of communicable diseases through Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) interventions.
- Addressing poor sanitation and hygiene practices.
- Community sensitization and awareness on MUSA.
Conduct quality assurance and regulatory inspections of health services:
- For private health facilities: ensure compliance with standards for certification and licensing.
- For public health facilities: strengthen capacity through continuous improvement programs.
Health promotion
- Promote public awareness on key health indicators at both community and health facility levels.
- Ensure registration of all children born in health facilities through the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) system.
