RAISING THE VILLAGE COMMENDED FOR ITS CONTRIBUTION TO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

On 22 October 2026, the Mayor of the District, Ms. MUKANDAYISENGA Antoinette, welcomed and commended a delegation from the Raising The Village project, led by Mr. MUTATSINEZA Paul, for its contribution to sustainable poverty alleviation. The project works with local communities to promote agriculture, access to water, hygiene and sanitation, livestock farming, and village savings and loan groups.

Following the meeting, the delegation, accompanied by the District Corporate Services and Division Manager, Mr. TWAGIRAYEZU Jean Paul, and security organs, proceeded to celebrations marking achievements registered in Rwintobo and Mwiyanike Cells, Mulinga Sector.

During the event, awards were presented to residents who had followed the guidance provided and put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired through the project. Some residents, including youth representatives and members of the wider community, shared testimonies expressing their gratitude to Raising The Village and highlighting the positive changes it has brought to their living conditions, hygiene, and day-to-day development.

In his remarks as the Guest of Honour, Mr. TWAGIRAYEZU Jean Paul urged residents to sustain the achievements made and continue applying the knowledge they had gained to improve their livelihoods and strengthen self-reliance, thereby promoting sustainable development.
